Franklin’s BBQ shutdown due to covid 19

Franklin's sign

Austin’s famed Franklin’s BBQ is shut down by the corona virus. In an open letter the owner’s Aaron and Stacey Franklin say one of there staffers tested positive for covid 19, adding that person has not worked at the restaurant since June 15th. But to play it safe, they are closing down for a few more days. In the meantime, the restaurant will be professionally cleaned, and they hope to restart the smokers next week.

Open letter:

Hey everyone, I’m afraid we have some unfortunate news to share.  We learned this afternoon that a member of our crew at Franklin Barbecue tested positive for Covid-19.  Although it has been a full week since the team member last worked at the restaurant, and the employee is in a support role that does not involve interacting with customers or working directly with our food, out of an abundance of caution we are going to close up shop for a few days.  We really apologize for the inconvenience that our closure causes, especially to those of you kind enough to have already placed orders for pickup over the next several days.  We’re going to use this time to professionally clean the restaurant, of course, and to look after our employees.  With a little luck we’ll be back on the smokers next week, and we appreciate so much your patience and understanding.

Y’all stay safe out there, we’re looking forward to seeing you soon.
