3. TSU RELEASES REVISED CRIME STATS
Texas State University’s revised crime statistics show the school has drastically under-reported the number of sexual assaults on campus in San Marcos…Previously, the school had reported a total of eight sexual assaults in the years 2016 to 2017. But the revised numbers show there were actually 38. The school came under scrutiny last month after it first announced its old system of reporting crimes was not giving accurate data.

4. COALITION CALLS FOR BOLD TRANSIT INVESTMENT
A nonprofit coalition of more than four-dozen organizations known as ‘Transit for Austin’ is calling on the City of Austin to make a major investment in public transportation. Speaking alongside the nonprofit, State Senator Kirk Watson says Austin’s growth may double in about 20 years, so the city must make some bold decisions:
“Transit can help transform our future, and change the path we’re on,” Watson says.
The group is pushing for a fully electric system of mass transit, as well as changes to Austin’s infrastructure allowing for more bus-only lanes.

5. GUYGER TRIAL CONTINUES IN DALLAS
A jury is set to resume deliberations in the murder trial of a former Dallas police officer who fatally shot her neighbor in his apartment. Amber Guyger is charged in the September 2018 killing of Botham Jean. The jury can convict Guyger of murder, manslaughter or can choose to acquit. Jurors deliberated for a couple of hours Monday afternoon. They are set to resume this morning
