The conditions at the Federal migrant detention centers in Texas continues to be the focus of Governor Abbott.
Governor Abbott says he’s received reports that the newest detention center in Pecos doesn’t have access to potable water, “and that is exactly why the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is undertaking an investigation of that water source to make sure that nobody will be exposed to arsenic or any other type of bacteria or anything that could cause harm to anybody.”
Abbott says there’s a similar problem at the Midland site, a former camp for oil field workers, the well water source that hadn’t been used in a while and could be contaminated, “all the water they have is being provided to them by bottle by the federal government.”
