Late Tuesday night, Republican Bill Gravell (R-Jarrell) surged to a dramatic victory in the contest to succeed Dan Gattis as the next Williamson County Judge.  When the final ballots were counted, Gravell had overcome a late push by Democrat Blane Conklin and independent candidate William Kelberlau to capture 51.4{facfe2172b04f299937824a9c1283369198151460b73c952acd056710c9bd5ea} of the nearly 200,000 votes cast.

“I’ve been proud to call Williamson County home for nearly my entire life…so it’s difficult to put into words what tonight means to me or how grateful I am to the voters of this community for entrusting me with such a humbling responsibility,” said Gravell. “As your County Judge, I plan to work hard for every person in this county and fight every day to ensure that Williamson County remains one of the best places in the nation to live, work, and raise a family.”

Gravell was quick to credit the victory to his campaign’s tireless grassroots volunteers, who he says visited over 70,000 homes and made over 52,000 phone calls to help drive turnout in what would ultimately became a pitched battle for Williamson County voters.

“This election has seen its share of challenges, but from the very beginning, our campaign has been blessed with an incredible team of volunteers that truly united behind this effort,” continued Gravell, speaking from the Williamson County Republican Party’s election night watch party in Round Rock. “Tonight’s victory belongs to the dozens of friends and dedicated supporters who knocked on doors, made phone calls, held signs, and talked to their neighbors about the importance of making their voice heard in this historic election.”
