For a lot of veterans, leaving the service means starting over. Some are choosing to start over by working the land. Michael O’Gorman, founder of the Farm Veteran Coalition says farming fits in with a veteran’s drive to serve others.
O’Gorman says since many vets are already from rural areas farming is a natural fit for them because that’s what they grew up around.
