The city of Austin’s median home price is at an all time high near $407-thousand according to the Austin Board of Realtors May 2019 report. ABOR’s Kevin Scanlon is noticing a new trend building in homes about 10 to 15 minutes around of Downtown. He says people are having to sell their homes, not to cash in on high values, but because of high property taxes. He says that’s because Travis County is keeping up with the boom in prices with a boom in appraised values.
