Austin-based HomeAway is rebranding itself.
The world’s largest network of vacation rental homes is now calling itself VRBO (verb-oh). The Statesman reports HomeAway which was founded in 2004 bought competitor VRBO or Vacation Rentals By Owner two years later. Expedia then bought the company in 2015 for nearly four billion dollars. Expedia says it will put more resources into VRBO, which has better name recognition than HomeAway did. The company employs about 1700 workers in Austin.
