That’s the word from Gov. Greg Abbott. TxDOT has posted a notice saying they will start clearing out camps from state right of ways as soon as this Monday November 4th. The notice says all personal property and camp debris must be removed before then and anything left behind will be considered abandoned and removed. TxDOT is urging campers to take important items, documents and medications with them and has a number to retrieve abandoned items. The notice also gives numbers to services to help them escape homelessness. Abbott had threated the city of Austin that he would take action to stop the homeless camping that has generated complaints from citizens and tourists alike.
