The Austin area’s cost of living has alot of people worried about finances.

A new report by the non-profit AGE of Central Texas shows 75{2db634631ef8bd3f096060bc7daa4fc6677d16e616113d8c02bec6b420e3105c} of residents fear older adults will be forced out of Central Texas due to a lack of affordable housing. The Austin Round Rock metro is growing at a rapid pace, but 7 out of 10 residents don’t know it has the fastest growing population of adults age 55-64, AGE’s Rob Faubion said they got that statistic from the US Census. He added they hear from retirees that, even though they flat out own their homes, they can’t keep up with growing taxes on their fixed income. AGE officials reported, their survey also shows almost half of respondents biggest concern about aging is, if they were to stay where they live now is running out of money.
