Hutto sets maximum tax rate

The Hutto City Council has set its new maximum property tax rate ahead of the adoption of the budget for the next fiscal year.  That rate is 63-cents per $100 of taxable value.  As Hutto Mayor Doug Gaul points out, 63-cents is not set in stone just yet. He says the final rate could be much lower.

If that rate is approved, the city says it will help repay debt from voter-approved projects from last year’s bond election.
