In the Austin Metro, throughout 2019 the average asking per square foot price of industrial space has dropped to $9.80. CBRE’s Joe Novek still says cost growth is on the way. Part of that is due to construction costs and part of that is due to workforce shortages says Novek. He says it’s hard for buildings to undergo improvements and rents are reflecting that.
