Judge tosses another lawsuit against UT’s race based addmissions

The years-long fight over UT’s race-based admissions is far from over.
First, it was Abigail Fisher, who lost her fight against the use of race as a basis for admission.  Then, Edward Blum with Students for Fair Admission took the fight to the Texas Supreme Court, only to have that case tossed out twice.  Blum said the use of race discriminates against qualified students and isn’t in line with the Texas Constitution: “They classify people by race and they treat people differently by race.”
Now, a judge has ruled the group must repay $4000 to UT for court costs.  Blum said, because of the alleged unconstitutionality of UT’s policy, he’ll file another appeal, or he’ll start again from the ground level with a brand new lawsuit to end the practice.
