The latest Community Action Network report shows Austin is not on track to see just 70{2db634631ef8bd3f096060bc7daa4fc6677d16e616113d8c02bec6b420e3105c} of residents drive alone to work. But the Transportation Department and Capmetro are working to improve those stats with its Smart Trips Program. ATD’s Ashley Greenstein says through it they are trying to encourage alternative transportation.
Greenstein says they are working extensively in East Austin for a few months, mailing out tool kits that’ll deal out Free bus passes, transportation coupons and more.
