Kingsland Bridge Ribbon Cutting Planned Friday

Flood waters wash away the RM 2900 bridge in Kingsland

A ribbon cutting ceremony is planned for Friday afternoon to celebrate the completion of the RM 2900 replacement bridge. The RM 2900 bridge was washed away in rushing floodwaters on the Llano River arm of Lake LBJ on Oct. 16.

TxDOT awarded an emergency contract and crews worked around the clock, when possible, to construct the new bridge in less than seven months.

Numerous federal, state, and local leaders will be on hand to commemorate the ribbon cutting.  They include:

  • U.S. Senator John Cornyn
  • U.S. Senator Ted Cruz
  • Austin Congressman Roger Williams
  • State Representative Andrew Murr
  • Texas Transportation Commission Chairman J. Bruce Bugg, Jr.
