Kyle Police have released the name of the man found dead on Kyle Crossing early last week.
John Raymond Distasio, 55, was found on July 2 by a person who was walking to work. At the time, police did not find any identification so officers weren’t immediately aware of the man’s name or age.
Hays County Pct. 2 Justice of the Peace Beth Smith has since ordered an autopsy of his body and fingerprints were used to confirm his identification.
It is believed that Distasio was a transient from New Mexico.
Preliminary reports indicate illegal drug use was involved in Distasio’s death. Police do not suspect foul play.
