The Kyle Police Department is enhancing commercial vehicle enforcement on Kyle roads. Traffic officers will increase routine inspections focusing on vehicle safety, driver awareness, and weight compliance. These enforcements will improve road safety and protect local infrastructure.
In accordance with state and federal laws, commercial vehicles used for the transportation of property or delivery purposes will be checked for proper maintenance, especially brakes and tires, while weight limits will be enforced to prevent damage to roads and unnecessary risks to other drivers. Officers will also ensure drivers are following hours-of-service regulations to avoid fatigue.
“These collaborative efforts will protect the safety of everyone on the road, while supporting the efficient operation of the commercial transportation industry that is vital to our local economy,” said Kyle Police Chief, Jeff Barnett. “This proactive approach also highlights our ongoing commitment to safe roadways and the overall safety of our community.”
