Teachers and staff with five or more years experience in the Lake Travis school district will be getting a $3000 raise next year. That includes librarians, counselors and nurses.
Those with fewer than five year experience will get a $2700 raise. Other positions, like bus drivers, will be given a 4-percent raise.
However, Superintendent Dr. Brad Lancaster said despite the promise from lawmakers that House Bill 3 would provide funding for $4200 raises across the board, LTISD’s calculations have been closer to only $1462.
So to remain competitive, Lancaster said they opted for the $3000 for now.
