The Leander Independent School District is expected to announce Thursday the final candidate to replace current superintendent Dan Troxell.
A special school board meeting has been called for July 25, 2019 at the Support Services Complex beginning at 6:00 p.m. The public has been invited to attend.
Back in April, Troxell announced his plan to depart the district this summer. The board accepted his official letter of resignation a month later. Troxell’s last day with the district will be July 31, 2019, after which time he will move on to become the deputy executive director of the nonprofit Texas Association of Public schools.
Troxell has served as Leander ISD’s superintendent since 2016.
Once the board announces the finalist candidate, state law mandates there must be a 21-day waiting period before a contract can be signed.
