The city has 134 customers living outside Leander proper, and a proposal may soon lead to them paying 10-percent more for water and wastewater in anticipation of hundreds more customers in the coming years. That’s not OK for some residents, like Rober Wanger, who sees it as a way to tax certain customers to fund city expansion efforts.
City staff admits no cost study has been done to indicate this kind of rise would be needed.
City council has postponed any further action on this until more public input is given.
