About six months into a contract with the A&E TV show LivePD, Williamson County Commissioners consider cutting ties. Some commissioners cited concerns that the show was putting the county in a bad light.
Sheriff Robert Chody said the show has led to his department considering changes include a cite-and-release policy for pot possession. Sheriff Chody also said the show puts the county in a good light and has led to a fully staffed department with a waiting list of applicants.
Despite all of the concerns about deputies’ safety and spotlighting crime in the community, Williamson County Commissioners voted to keep the relationship going with the Sheriff’s Office and the A&E TV. Sheriff Robert Chody said the show is a plus for the department and the county as a whole.
