The Lockhart Police Department continues its investigation into a Tuesday afternoon crash that claimed the life of a 19-year-old man.
Shortly before noon, officers responded to the crash on SH-142 at San Antonio Street. It was there the victim was found with significant injuries after being hit by a car. The victim was walking down the side of the highway at the time, police said.
He died during transport to the hospital.
According to preliminary reports, the driver of the car fell asleep, veered off the road, and struck the man. Neither the driver nor the victim have been identified publicly.
No charges have been filed.
