When teachers, faculty, and students return to campuses next year in the Manor Independent School District, a new face will be at the helm.
Current Superintendent of Schools Dr. Andre Spencer has announced that he will be departing effective December 30, 2022. Spencer has been open and vocal about his intent to return to the northeast to be closer to his family.
“The Manor ISD Board of Trustees congratulates him on this important next step in his professional and personal life. We thank him for his leadership during these last two years,” the district said in a statement.
Chief of Schools Michael Perkins will serve as Acting Superintendent during the transition period.
“We will begin our search for a new Superintendent in January and we look forward to working side by side with Mr. Perkins and our talented administrative team to make 2023 a happy, healthy, and student-centered new year!” the district said.
