This week marked the beginning of major lobbying at the Texas Capitol, and the manufacturing sector was out in force pushing for lawmakers to align the state’s business tax with federal practices. Tony Bennett with the Texas Manufacturers Association says there’s still a lot of uncertainty due to the continued standoff and tariffs involving China.
However, he says predictions that manufacturing jobs are going extinct are not accurate since Texas employs nearly a million people within that sector.
