Medical Marijuana in Texas

Texas Senate unanimously passes medical marijuana expansion bill

Medical Marijuana is one step closer to helping Texans with terminal cancer, MS, autism and other neurological disorders. The Texas Senate unanimously passed State Senator Dr. Donna Campbell’s committee substitute for House Bill 3703 that would expand the State’s Compassionate Use Act.

The bill would also allow doctors to prescribe the marijuana extract CBD oil for more than just epilepsy.

Some Senators said they fear this could lead to legalizing recreational marijuana.

Since the bill the senate passed expanded medical marijuana use far beyond the original House bill it will need to go back to the House for their approval before heading to Governor Abbott’s desk.
