Since November, CTRMA said there has been an increase of just a couple thousand veterans using the toll free program.
A lot of Central Texas veterans still aren’t taking advantage of a program allowing them to drive for free on most area toll roads, except for Mopac. Tracie Brown with the Moblity Authority said there have only been a couple thousand new signups since the program launched in November.
While that’s not what the mobility authority had hoped to see, on the flipside, CTRMA’s Tracie Brown said the revenue loss so far has been only about $300,000.
The initial projection was $1.1-million in the first fiscal year
Over the six month span of this program, qualified veterans have racked up only about 50,000 transactions, most of which has been seen on 183A.
