A ‘no trespassing’ sign, extra locks, and even police involvement is still not enough to keep two homeless squatters out of an Austin woman’s vacant home that she’s trying to sell.

Ruth Howard tells KVUE the two people broke in through a window in the kitchen and made themselves at home, including putting food into her freezer and leaving clothes scattered around the house.

Adler says he’s also getting ideas on pilot programs to help with the new homeless ordinances in order to make sure Austin doesn’t make the same mistakes as San Francisco, LA, or Seattle.
