More details in the online threats made on two Williamson County Schools

Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody

The Williamson County Sheriff released more details in the cases against a pair of area students and online threats to school campus.

Sheriff Robert Chody said a Cedar Valley Middle School student was playing a online game with a friend in Mexico and vented about various problems he had on campus. “The juvenile in Mexico offered to put a threat out via social media. The local child agreed with this idea and gave information of particular, student, faculty, staff, and Internet social media addresses.”

A resident near the middle school called law enforcement Wednesday after finding a gun near the campus. Chody said they’ve since learned the gun was stolen, but added, detectives are still investigating if whether or not the gun found is linked to the accused student. Later the Wednesday night he student was arrested and faces a 3rd degree felony for making a terroristic threat.

Chody reported another student, this one of Liberty Hill High school, faces the same charge after he posted a picture on snap chat making a threat to the school. Chody said they went to the student and parents home and made the arrest. The other student was from Cedar Valley Middle School. Chody believes there is no further threat to the public in either case.
