Governor Abbott has signed legislation making an additional 250 million dollars available to improve county roads around the state’s oil and gas fields. Texas Oil and Gas Association President Todd Staples says this will help trucks and tankers get from the field to refineries.
He says energy revenue helps fund much of the state’s budget, so he says this is a smart investment.
