More public drinking fountains will be installed around Austin.
The city council will now direct staffers to put together budget estimates for the ten new fountains, with locations planned within the area between Lady Bird Lake, Lamar, I-35, and 15th Street. While some of the proposed sites may already have some fountains, council member Ann Kitchen says that won’t be up to staff to decide.
Council has extended the area from the original proposal to also include Barton Springs Road and Riverside Drive along Lady Bird Lake
