The debate over special counsel Robert Mueller’s report is getting new life with word that Mueller has agreed to testify publicly before two House committees.
Democrats say Mueller will appear July 17 in back-to-back sessions of the Judiciary and Intelligence committees.
Mueller’s sole public statement about the investigation into Russian election interference came last month when he sought to explain his decision to not indict President Donald Trump or accuse him of criminal conduct.
This will be Mueller’s first time answering questions since completing a nearly 2 year anniversary of the 20-16 Trump campaign.

The first of the Democratic presidential debates is expected to be more about minute-long sound bites and getting-to-know-you moments than deep dives into policy proposals.
Millions of viewers are expected to watch the prime-time showdown of 10 candidates on Wednesday night on NBC, MSNBC and Telemundo.
A similar 10-candidate session follows on Thursday night.

The House passes a multi-billion dollar emergency aid bill to provide humanitarian assistance to migrants at the southern border.
The $4.5-billion border supplemental passed mostly along party lines.
The bill includes provisions to improve the treatment of unaccompanied children in U-S custody — amid recent outrage over conditions in a Texas detention facility.
Now, it’s up to the Republican-led Senate to pass its own version of the package.

Austin Police Department leaders are building up a work group to improve upon the department’s police body camera program. APD Assistant Chief Joseph Chacon says that group will be looking into every process involved with the cameras.
“To make sure that we’re looking for any trends or patterns that we’re seeing with maybe officers who aren’t doing things right,” Chacon said. “Are we seeing a lot of officers doing that? Is there something, you know, an additional piece of training that we need to put out, or something else?”
This comes on the heels of an audit that shows 96{2db634631ef8bd3f096060bc7daa4fc6677d16e616113d8c02bec6b420e3105c} of APD body cameras being used correctly.

Adler says he wants to start a much broader ritual that no longer includes just prayers, but also poems, meditation, or just a moment of silence.
In 2016, the council had scheduled a member of the Satanic Temple to perform the invocation, but that was eventually canceled.
