On Monday, the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority gave its stamp of approval for two new maximum speed limits on the 183 South toll and the 45 Southwest toll. Both roads have been open and in operation for some time now, but neither currently have posted speed limits. That should change next month.
183 South is an 8-mile stretch of toll road between 290 and 71. The newly approved speed has been set at 75 miles per hour. As for 45 Southwest, which is just over 3.5 miles and connects 1626 to Mopac, will have a new maximum speed of 70 miles per hour.
New signage will be installed in May. Installation is expected to take between 2-4 weeks.
