New results show a large number of kids feel unsafe at School

The Austin school board has seen the results of a new student survey showing only 87-percent of kids feel safe in schools.  The district put forth a goal last year of 91-percent.  Associate Superintendent of High Schools Craig Shaprio tells trustees making kids feel safe will take a lot more than just more cops on campus. Shapiro says that having more cops on campus will provide more physical, psychological and emotional safety.

KXAN is reporting the district is spending some of the money approved last year by voters for new security cameras, upgraded fire alarms, new radio dispatchers, and system upgrades.
