As concerned parents speak out against, there appear to be just as many speaking in favor of the new curriculum, which includes teaching elementary kids about sexual orientation, with a full focus on romantic same-sex relationships by fifth grade.
Parents like Suzanne Kearns say those opposed are unwilling to accept gay or transgender students.
Other supporters say the changes are important to giving kids a foundation of knowledge about sexuality and safety.
