According to court documents, the parents claim their 4-year-old daughter was unable to get back inside of Old Town Elementary last year after they say she stopped to get a rock out of her shoe, and then was forgotten by staff. A librarian reportedly heard the girl — a pre-k student at the time — banging on the door and finally let her back in. But the suit goes on to accuse the girl’s teacher of being evasive when questioned by the parents, allegedly telling them she needs to “learn how to follow directions and stay in line.”
The family is seeking $6-million in damages, including to the girl’s mental well-being.
