Pflugerville makes a few changes to its noise ordinance

First and most notable, the maximum decibel levels have been reduced to 70 during the day, and 65 at night.  But at the same time, those daytime hours have been extended through midnight during the weekend.

With an amended rules now in place, violators of Pflugerville’s new noise ordinances could be on the hook for a fine as high as $2000.  City Manager Sereniah Breland said there will be a new permitting process for music venues, special events, and construction sites.

The ordinance is mostly aimed at loud music, but exceptions will be made for things like sporting events, school functions, and emergency services.
