Police Release New Details in North Austin Murder

A man remains behind bars following his arrest on Monday, June 19 for the alleged killing of another man in a homeless camp behind a Rundberg-area YMCA.  According to reports, Austin police were called to the 1000 block of Rundberg Lane shortly after 3:15 a.m. about a stabbing in the area.  Witnesses directed officers to the nearby homeless camp where they reportedly found Joshua Daniel, 41, feet away from another man with fatal stab wounds.

It’s believed Daniel attempted to dispose of the body by dismemberment and burning.

Daniel was later booked into the Travis County Jail where he remains charged with murder.

The victim has not been identified publicly.
