The Austin Chamber of Commerce is very much in favor of the ‘A-F’ school rating system being used by the Texas Education Agency. The Chamber’s Drew Scheberle said these ratings count because they can impact homeowners, effect property values, and drive student behaviors for the next year or two.
And he also said high marks for a public school campus can act as a huge incentive when it comes to trying to bring a new company to Austin because instead of paying for a private school, he says they can save their money and choose a good public school instead.
