Austin’s Rental rates are on the rise, again. Apartment Data’s Cindi Reed says the average rate runs near $1,235, up by 6 percent last year. But she says renters looking for a better deal can do so with new rental units opening up.
She says new property’s need to get leased up within 12-months to stabilize to get their permanent financing and could be willing to make a deal. Austinites continue to pay the highest rent in the state.
