Two Round Rock police officers are on the mend following a scary ordeal on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Round Rock Police Department, the officers were conducting a “high-risk” traffic stop near the intersection of Tiger Trail and Sunrise Road when the driver fled. A chase ensued, culminating in a crash down the road. The department says the officers were both injured while bringing the driver into custody, yet despite being hurt, they did secure the arrest.
The incident prompted the closure of Sunrise Road between Bowman Road and Country Aire Drive as the investigation continued.
The extent of the officers’ injuries is not known, nor is it clear their conditions as of Friday morning.
The driver has not yet been identified.
