A $1-million transportation study will soon get underway in San Marcos which will look at the viability of connecting state own roads like Highway 80 and SH 21 to city-owned roads like Guadalupe and Hopkins Streets.
Director of Engineering Laurie Moyer said they want a partnership with TxDOT to focus on mitigating the impact of the area’s rapid growth. It will also address the extension of SH 21.
The study will also look at increasing housing near public transit, as well as the creation of what is being called a premier mixed-use city center.
