Summer power forecast calls for records to be broken

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas, which runs the state’s power grid, says this summer could see record-breaking electricity usage. ERCOT’s Leslie Sopko says the grid could reach maximum generation capacity on the hottest days. ERCOT says demand across the state has been growing at a faster rate than expected. One reason is the oil boom in west Texas since drilling rigs use electricity.
