Bilateral trade and China are on President Donald Trump’s agenda during meetings Tuesday with British Prime Minister Theresa May:

The two are discussing a possible trade deal to take effect once the U.K. leaves the European Union and Britain’s decision about whether Chinese telecom firm Huawei can work on parts of the country’s new 5G wireless network.

The U.S. wants allies to exclude Huawei from all 5G networks over fears it could let the Chinese government gain access to data.

It looks like Big tech is in the crosshairs of the federal government:

The House Judiciary Committee has announced a sweeping antitrust investigation of an unspecified number of technology companies.

The panel said it would do what it calls “a top-to-bottom review of the market power held by giant tech platforms.”

The firms weren’t named – but published reports have said that Facebook, Google, Amazon and Apple may be the targets of the antitrust investigation.

It would be the first time that Congress has undertaken such a probe of high-tech companies. And Monday, stock market prices of all four companies tumbled.

On Thursday, the city council will take a look at expanding shelter options for Austin’s homeless:

Downtown remains the most densely populated area for homelessness because of the ARCH shelter, but council member Ann Kitchen tells Fox 7 people are beginning to migrate, so it’s time to consider shelters elsewhere.

An item on the council’s agenda this week will call on the city manager to find the funding for that new shelter with 50 to 100 beds.  Kitchen says it won’t be in a residential neighborhood.

A petition on change.org calls on Gov. Greg Abbott to call the legislature into a special session to keep the State Board of Plumbing Examiners from shutting down:

Asa  Womak is an Austin plumber with the group 71-Thousand Strong Plumbing and says people like him are trained and licensed but soon someone who’s only watched a couple of video online can call themselves a plumber.

Abbott has said no special session is planned. The petition has over sixty-four thousand signatures.

Jeopardy! champion James Holzhauer congratulates 27-year-old Chicago librarian who ended his 32-game streak just $56,000 shy of Ken Jennings’ $2.5million record:

Holzhauer’s run came to an end on Monday night after losing to Emma Boettcher.  He took to Twitter to congratulate Boettcher on her ‘world-beating’ performance.

Holzhauer also tweeted at Jennings on Monday, telling him ‘you win this round’.

The surprise of Holzhauer’s defeat was spoiled when a clip leaked on Sunday.

Holzhauer played a perfect game but couldn’t catch Boettcher after she found both Daily Doubles in the second round
