On June 12, 2022, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office and Austin Police Department responded to the intersection of Oro Valley Trail and Modena Trail in reference to a report of shooting. Upon arrival, officials reported a vehicle that had crashed into the backyard of a home on Oro Valley Trail. There were three men found in the vehicle, all of whom had sustained gunshot wounds.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as 16-year-old Adrian Murillo Curiel of Cedar Park, died on scene from his injuries. The two passengers sustained non-life -threatening injuries and were taken to area hospitals where they received treatment.
An investigation revealed three people met with the victims resulting in a confrontation which ended in multiple shots being fired. All three alleged shooters fled the area. One suspect, Stephen Sanchez, was later located at a local hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and was subsequently arrested for murder and transported to the Williamson County Jail. On June 16th, 2022, a second suspect, Xelso Jesus Mora-Vazquez, was arrested in a joint effort involving multiple agencies on a murder warrant and transported to the Williamson County Jail.
The third suspect, Devin Vasquez-Pachecho, had an active warrant for murder out of Williamson County. He was located and arrested on Saturday in Hays County.
This remains an active criminal investigation by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.
