Williamson County Judge Dan Gattis has been charged with Official Oppression. Williamson County Sheriff’s Office officials say the charge comes after alleged threats to County Sheriff Robert Chody.
Those threats are the result of an encounter between Chief Deputy Sheriff Ryle and Judge Gattis. Ryle said that Judge Gattis threatened to cut his budget if he kept tweeting, while also poking his finger in the chest of the Deputy Sheriff. Ryle said he asked the Judge if he really wanted to say something like that and the Judge did not back down and told him again to stop tweeting about him and his people.
Ryle eventually submitted a criminal complaint to prosecutors, which then charged Judge Gattis.
