The three men involved include one ABIA employee and two contractors. They were reportedly cleaning out that grease trap, which looks somewhat like a manhole, when they tumbled into the trap, which is designed to collect the excess of grease from the airport’s many restaurants.
Two of the men were able to hoist themselves out but a third remained unconscious in the hole and in cardiac arrest as medics arrived. It’s unclear how this happened exactly.
Two of them have serious injuries and a third is currently battling life-threatening injuries.
