Justices are allowing nationwide enforcement of a new Trump administration rule that prevents most Central American immigrants from seeking asylum in the U.S.

2. TENTATIVE OPIOID DEAL WON’T END COURT BATTLES FOR PURDUE PHARMA

Critics are saying that a tentative settlement reached between the maker of OxyContin and thousands of local governments in more than 20 states doesn’t do enough to hold the drug company responsible.

3. WALMART ROLLS OUT UNLIMITED GROCERY DELIVERY SUBSCRIPTION

The nation’s largest grocer is locked in an arms race with Amazon and others to expand fresh-food delivery – one of the fastest growing e-commerce sectors.

4. 183 TOLL LANES WIN CTRMA APPROVAL

The Mobility Authority approves a plan to finalize negotiations with TxDOT for the addition of new toll lanes on 183 in Northwest Austin.  CTRMA Director of Engineering Justin Word says the lanes would span nine miles between SH 45 and Mopac.

“Two tolled express lanes in the center of the facility, completing a four general puurpose lane on the outside — non-tolled,” he says.

In other words, eight non-tolled lanes plus the four new toll lanes.  The $500-million project could break ground by 2021 and be complete by 2025.

5. APD CRACKS DOWN ON ‘MOVE OVER LAW’ VIOLATORS

Austin Police were kept busy yesterday morning and afternoon on Ben White with their latest Slow Down Move Over Operation with a tow truck.  APD reports 237 warnings were issued. Cops gave out 21 other tickets and 19 other warnings today.  One last tow truck operation is scheduled for two weeks from today.
