The Texas Department of Transportation will be shifting traffic on the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard bridge as construction crews prepare to demolish and reconstruct the north side of the bridge.
Beginning Monday, April 14 through Wednesday, April 16, the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard bridge at I-35 will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. while crews restripe and place barrier to shift traffic to the south side of the bridge. The restriping will also require alternating lane closures on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and both frontage roads approaching the intersection.
Access will be maintained during reconstruction of the bridge with two eastbound lanes, one westbound lane and a pedestrian sidewalk. This traffic pattern will be in place through late 2025, weather permitting.
Road signs will be placed to alert drivers of the closures. To learn more about this project, visit mymobility35.com.
