In response to mobility challenges in the area around Zilker Park, the Austin Transportation is providing an update to the community on the options available to travel to the Trail of Lights.
Open vehicle routes:
• From the north:
-Travel south on Mopac to the Barton Skyway exit
-Turn left onto Barton Skyway and then left onto the Mopac frontage road
-Continue on the MOPAC frontage road towards Bee Caves Road
-Head straight through the light at Bee Caves Road and look for parking personnel to direct you to the parking lot
• From the south:
-Travel north on Mopac to the Barton Skyway exit
-Continue on the MOPAC frontage road towards Bee Caves Road
-Head straight through the light at Bee Caves Road and look for parking personnel to direct you to the parking lot
Closed vehicle routes:
• Stratford Drive will close to through vehicle traffic at Paige Drive. The street will remain open only to permit and pre-paid vehicle parking, pedestrians and people using bicycles and micromobility devices such as scooters.
• Barton Springs Road will close to through vehicle traffic at Azie Morton Road. The street will remain open only to pedestrians and people using bicycles and micromobility devices such as scooters.
