Transportation on top of some Cen Tx political minds

Line of cars backed up on the road

Political minds are pushing for Austin area local leaders and city councils to build relationships with the newly elected/re-elected at the federal and state level, all in an effort to find support for a massive nation-wide 1.5 TRILLION dollar infrastructure package put forward by President Trump. But this would need Congressional approval.
The Texas Municipal League’s Bennett Sandlin spelled it out, the local efforts to build up Austin area transportation, be it roads, busses, or others, are not keeping up with growth. Sandlin believes that could be different the Austin and other area cities could get more federal and state dollars to offset some of the costs.
There is also an expiring economic development chapter that could use some legislative support. Sandlin said, the Chapter 312 chapter helps cities build the infrastructure needed to grow, he sees businesses and local politicians fighting to keep it alive.
