Travis County Commissioners want to expand their recycling program

Back in March, Travis County Commissioners gave the go-ahead for Texas State University to look at how to expand their recycling program. Project Manager Matthew Pantuso said the City of Austin does a good job with single stream recycling paper, cans and glass but other items, not so much with household hazardous waste materials, like pool chemicals, which is something we don’t want to find it’s way into our water, as well as electronics, and construction debris.

The County will consider an online and offline PR program to inform residents and businesses about all the recycling options available to them later this year.
